Halldor has guided Iceland since 2010. Silvia has spent twelve years living across Scandinavia. Together they design private Nordic journeys.
It started in a taxi
Halldor's road in was driving a taxi in Reykjavik, including moonlighting for other drivers. Some of those drivers had corporate clients, so much of the work was corporate: airport transfers, and sightseeing and guiding for business guests.
Superjeep guiding started in 2010 and ran through 2022. Along the way he guided for the Arctic Trucks Experience, drove and guided at Into the Glacier, and was the most reviewed guide every year at every company he worked for.
It started in a hotel
Silvia's road in was a front desk in Breidalsvik, in the Eastfjords of Iceland, at fourteen. She spent her first summer cleaning rooms at Hotel Breidalsvik and Hotel Stadarborg before moving into waiting tables and other hotel work, returning every summer through high school.
After high school she moved to Copenhagen. Her original plans to study acting took an unexpected turn, and she found her way back into hospitality, waitressing in Nyhavn for about a year and a half. From Copenhagen she moved to Malmo and later the Skane countryside, where she has been based since 2016.
In Sweden she completed a two-year programme in sustainable tourism and business development for the visitor industry. She was finishing those studies when she met Halldor, and on one of their first dates they began imagining what would become Unforgettable Nordic.
The right fit, honestly
We do not run group tours. We do not sell pre-packaged itineraries off a shelf. We are a small business that plans private trips for a small number of clients, and we are honest that this is not the right fit for everyone.
An unforgettable journey is about far more than where you go. It is about how you are made to feel along the way.
