Who are Unforgettable Nordic? A bespoke Nordic luxury travel consultancy registered in Wyoming, USA. Founded by native Icelanders Halldór Haraldsson (Operations & Route Design) and Silvía Rut Ástvaldsdóttir (Client Relations & Itinerary Design). Regional expertise since 2001 across Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Faroe Islands, and Greenland. What does "bespoke" actually mean here? No templates, no packages, no junior planners, no DMC handoffs. Every itinerary is designed personally by Halldór or Silvía for one client. Direct founder access from first consultation through return home. The trip you receive is built from scratch around your dates, group, pace, and ambitions. Why limited to five trips per month? Because that is the maximum where every detail can receive weeks of focused attention without compromise. Two of us, two concurrent groups maximum. Aurora Borealis Journeys

When is the best month to see the Northern Lights? October through March across the Nordic destinations. Peak activity December through February. Finland offers earliest viewing from September. Four nights minimum in dark-sky position recommended for any aurora-focused itinerary. Where in the Nordic region offers the highest probability of seeing the aurora? Tromsø (Norway, 69°N) sits beneath the auroral oval. Abisko (Swedish Lapland, 68°N) holds the documented highest clear-sky frequency in Scandinavia. Iceland (63°–66°N) combines aurora with glacier ice caves. Finnish Lapland (68°–70°N) offers earliest season and glass-roofed cabin viewing. Can you guarantee I will see the Northern Lights? No, and any operator promising otherwise is misleading you. The aurora depends on solar activity (KP index), cloud cover, and darkness. We guarantee the best possible position: location, accommodation purpose-designed for viewing, real-time forecast monitoring, and immediate response when conditions align.

Arctic Midnight Sun Golf

When is the season for Arctic midnight sun golf? Late May through late July only. Solstice week (20–21 June 2027) is the astronomical peak. Above the Arctic Circle the sun does not set for up to 76 consecutive days. Tee times typically scheduled 10pm to 2am in 24-hour daylight. Where do you actually play midnight golf? Three named venues: Akureyri Golf Club (Iceland, 65.68°N), Lofoten Links (Norway, 68.26°N, World #24), and Björkliden (68°N, a nine-hole mountain course) and Tromsø (69°N, the world’s northernmost 18-hole course). Each access arranged personally by the founders. How far in advance should I book a midnight golf trip? Six to nine months ahead for solstice-week capacity. Most summer months are claimed by mid-Q1. We accept five Nordic journeys per month across all product lines. Is golf at midnight actually playable? Yes. The sun stays above the horizon for weeks at a time during June and July. The light is horizontal and golden through the night, often softer and more pleasant than midday. Courses operate 24-hour tee sheets during this window.

Corporate & Incentive Travel

Which season works best for corporate retreats? June–August for midnight sun, mild weather, outdoor experiences. December–February for aurora viewing, ICEHOTEL, dog sledding. May and September are excellent shoulder seasons. We deliver corporate programmes year-round in all Nordic destinations.

Booking & Process

The first reply is from a founder, within four business hours. How does payment and contracting work? After the discovery consultation we present a tailored proposal with scope, timeline, and investment. Once agreed, the design process begins. Direct booking or through your preferred travel management company. Wire transfer or major card payment, deposit on contract signing. How far in advance should I plan? Six to nine months ahead for peak seasons (June-July midnight sun, December-February aurora). Three to four months minimum for shoulder seasons. Bespoke design takes 2–4 weeks once scope is agreed. What is included in your service fee? All booking coordination, supplier relationships, route design, contingency planning, pre-departure briefing, real-time concierge support during travel, and post-trip follow-up. No hidden vendor commissions. Transparent fee structure communicated upfront. What if my plans change after booking? Itinerary modifications handled directly with founders. Cancellation and rescheduling terms agreed in the original contract, generally generous up to 60 days before travel and more constrained closer to departure. Travel insurance recommended for all journeys.
